Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Beat cake mix, pumpkin purée, eggs, and oil in a bowl using an electric mixer on medium speed for 3 minutes. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish; spread evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean, 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely, 30 to 45 minutes.

Frost cooled cake with cream cheese frosting.
