This is the stove-top version of the Instant Pot version I did for people who don’t have an Instant Pot.
View original recipe on cookpad.comStart a pan of water on stove and turn on high.
Cut chicken into 1/2 inch - 1 inch pieces.
Once water is boiling, put chicken in. Turn down heat a bit so water doesn't boil out of pan.
In another pot on stove, melt butter. Once it's melted and starts to bubble, add in flour.
Keep whisking together until well combined. (Keep whisking so flour doesn't burn on bottom of pan.)
When flour/butter mixture is combined and bubbling some, add in chicken broth and whisk together. (Mixture will thicken and start to bubble.) Add seasonings.
When chicken is done, put it in a large bowl and shred. (Use a hand mixer and it shreds it fast & perfectly!)
Place chicken back into gravy mixture and stir.
Toast bread slices and ladle gravy/chicken on top of each.
