Another way to use up the leftover egg whites is making them into sweet, crispy pizzelle cookies. In Indonesia this cookies are called “ Kue Semprong”. You can make it into different shapes. Round shapes, rolls, or even cones. To make this, requires to use a pizzelle maker. It’s really fun to make and fun to eat😀 And here is the recipe!
View original recipe on cookpad.comIn a stand mixer or large bowl with a hand mixer, whip the egg whites and sugar on high speed for about 2 minutes, until frothy.
In the melted butter, vanilla, and water until incorporated. Add the flour and mix until smooth.
Preheat the pizzelle maker. When the light goes off, using teaspoon scoop the batter and place it in the middle of the maker. Press and lock it. Wait until the light goes off.
When the light goes off, open the top of the maker, and take off one the pizzelle transfer to the plate or cutting board. Hurriedly rolling the pizzelle up and put it onto serving plate. Take another one and do the same.
Repeat with the remaining batter. The pizzelle cookies ready for tea time, enjoy!
