#CookpadApron2026 This recipe is a fond tribute to my childhood. I love a good cheesesteak sandwich. When I was a kid, my dad traveled for work, and sometimes I got to tag along during school breaks. The best cheesesteak of my life was in New Jersey — loaded with Cheez Whiz, from a little place called The Dog House right next to some railroad tracks. I know I’ll never recreate that exact one, but I still smile every time I think about it. This recipe gives me that same cozy feeling. It holds together, the juices don’t soak the bun, and you can use provolone or go full nostalgia with Cheez Whiz.
