I love these as a snack, with pasta and soup dishes. You can add your own cheeses and spices that you like. So fluffy and soft. Buttery, cheesy comfort food.
View original recipe on cookpad.comIn large bowl mix flour, salt, yeast and sugar.
Add butter and warm water.
Mix until it is a shaggy dough. Turn out and knead until smooth and elastic.
Lightly coat bowl with oil and cover dough with oil. Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled in size.
Punch down dough to deflate and roll into a large rectangle.
Cover dough with softened butter but leave about an inch on all sides plain.
Add cheese or cheeses of your choice evenly over dough. I used sharp cheddar and mild.
Roll long side tightly like making cinnamon rolls. Pinch ends and edges together to seal.
Cut into any size you like. I made 13 out of this roll. The bigger you cut the bigger the rolls.
Cover again and let rise until doubled in size.
Bake for 15 to 30 minutes checking after 15 minutes or until golden brown. Brush with butter and add garlic and parsley if you like.
