Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Add the chopped chocolate and butter to a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl.
Heat gently until melted and smooth.
Set the chocolate mixture aside to cool slightly.
In a separate bowl, add the flour.
Add the cocoa powder
Add the baking powder
Mix the dry ingredients together.
In another bowl, add the granulated sugar.
Add the brown sugar.
Add the eggs.
Add the vanilla extract.
Mix with an electric mixer for 5–7 minutes until thick and fluffy
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the wet ingredients.
Mix until combined
Add the dry ingredients.
Gently fold everything together with a spatula.
Do not overmix the batter.
Scoop the cookies onto the baking tray right away
Leave space between each cookie.
Bake for 10–11 minutes.
The tops should look shiny and crackly.
Let the cookies cool on the tray before moving them.
