8 fresh mint leaves (plus more for garnish)

1/4 to 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup

2 ounces bourbon

Crushed ice

Instructions

Step 1
In a julep cup, muddle the mint leaves in 1/4 ounce simple syrup. Add the bourbon and fill the cup with crushed ice.
Step 2
Stir until the cup becomes frosted on the outside. Taste, adding more simple syrup for a sweeter drink.
Step 3
